2001 Meritus Scholar Ana Moraga working for womens’ rights

2001 Meritus Scholar and Meritus’ first mentor manager, Ana Moraga, has had an exciting beginning to her second year of law school at Northeastern University in Boston.  Her fall term began with five days of meetings and training at the United Nations in New York where she sat in on a presentation of reports from countries regarding a treaty to eliminate violence against women. Her passion for law and international women’s rights and advocacy helped her secure a fall internship at the Organization of American States’ Inter-American Commission on Women.

Her next internship will prove to be just as rewarding as she ventures to Argentina to do work on litigation heavy cases before the Inter-American System of Human Rights. Her legal studies are helping Ana fulfill her dreams.

In her free time, Ana  has time to mentor 2012 Meritus Scholar, Lucy Zhang, who just began her studies at Boston College. Lucy is in good hands with her transition to college and adapting to a new life in a city.
