On the evening of June 5, the 2013 Class of Meritus Scholars joined their donors in an intimate reception in celebration of their hard work, future goals, and the partnership of the Meritus community.
The Ladies of One Sky Giving Circle and 2013 Scholar Mimi Phan
This was the first year of a new format for the Annual Reception, whereby new Scholars and their donors gathered for a casual get-together and brief speaking program. As a result, each Scholar received considerable one-on-one time with their donors – many exchanging contact information and making plans for engagement over the summer! The format of this year’s small reception encouraged greater communication and participation, which is proving to be a major benefit to our Scholars and donors alike.
2000 Meritus Scholar Linda Freund opened our eyes to the Meritus experience, and James Taylor, published author and Chair of the Department of Politics at USF regaled the audience with a motivational keynote speech. We are sincerely grateful to KQED for hosting this reception, as well as Zephyr Real Estate for their continued partnership and sponsorship.
Please take a look at some photos from last night, and feel free to post those you have taken as well! Tag yourselves, and join in the conversation.
Cheers to the 2013 Class and the Meritus Community!
