Journalist and 2008 Scholar Lydia Blanco, a recent graduate of Bennett College for Women, is on a mission to “find hope for silence” for those who do not have the means and the tools to tell their stories. Lydia’s work finds its core in reaching back into her own community to help make a difference for young women overlooked by society. Her powerful documentary stemming from a recent internship demonstrates her passion in her work and her focus on giving back. Building on this recent experience, Lydia plans to travel to Latin America this spring as a volunteer for ProWorld. ProWorld’s mission is to promote social and economic development through service on a variety of community development projects. There, Lydia will continue her work to make a difference in the world.
